Certiicate III in Aged Care Work (CHC30102)



The Aged Care industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in Australia and current employment prospects are high for qualiied carers in both the domestic and international markets. For those wishing to gain entry into the Aged Care
industry, Certiicate III in Aged Care Work is ideal.

Students will develop skills in a range of areas including supporting an older person in the activities of daily living, provision of support for individuals with dementia, working effectively with culturally diverse clients and colleagues and in providing social, physical and psychological care.

Throughout the course, students will combine theory undertaken in class with practical work experience. During their practical placement, students will gain valuable hands-on experience through interaction with residents and facility employees as well as their peers and trainers.

Upon completion of the Certiicate III course, students will gain the knowledge and skills required to work as an assistant in nursing (AIN) or personal care assistant (PCA) in an aged care facility, a community support worker, a home care assistant or a community care worker.

Students wishing to continue their professional development can upgrade to the Certiicate IV in Aged Care Work, or diversify their training by undertaking another Community Services qualiication such as the Certiicate III or Certiicate IV
in Disability Work. Students can also progress onto the Diploma of Community Services Management or other health care professions such as Nursing at a tertiary level.
