Certificate III in Childrens Services (CHC30402)



The Certificate III in Childrens Services is the ideal starting point for those seeking a career in childcare as it prepares students for employment in a group care environment through theoretical learning and childcare centre based work
placement.

Throughout the course students learn about engaging with groups of children in a regulated environment and the responsibilities that are involved with this type of work. Students are also taught about taking observations of children and relaying the information back to families, how children develop and how as a professional childcare worker you can assist in their growth and development.

Students learn through hands-on interaction in the work place learning the role of an Assistant, how to work as part of a team and working with groups of children.

Upon completion of this course students are qualiied to obtain employment as an Assistant in a childcare centre. Students can continue their studies by upgrading to the Diploma of Childrens Services, or by broadening their skills in another community services discipline such as Disability Work. Successful completion may also lead to tertiary education.
