DESCRIPTION
The Diploma of Community Services Work will provide you with the skills and knowledge to work as a professional community services worker in a wide variety of settings such as family welfare organisations, disability services, youth services, child protection and community health services and employment. You may also have responsibility for the supervision of other staff and volunteers. Given the increasing need for qualified community services professionals in Australia, the Diploma is practical in its delivery and suitable for those looking for a new career path, those seeking to learn more about community services work, and also for those with other qualifications such as human resources, massage therapy, naturopathy, teaching, nursing or first line management, who are interested in helping and supporting others. With a Diploma in Community Services Work you will develop the skills and knowledge to work with people and communities to assist them through a range of personal and social issues. You will also have the opportunity to complete 200 hours of vocational placement within the community sector to practice your skills.
