Description
The Diploma of Tourism program teaches students to create international fares and tickets, including e-tickets, in addition to professional itineraries and working on Galileo, a travel industry-based computerised reservations system.
Getting ahead in the tourism industry requires specialised knowledge of the software and products used every day in the travel and tourism industry. The Galileo booking system is the central focus of the tourism course and this focus ensures that what is being delivered in the classroom is the same as what is being used in industry.
A career in travel and tourism is ideal for those who enjoy working with people. Travel and Tourism consists of many different industries, all combining to create vibrant and exciting careers. Hotels, transportation, recreational parks and restaurants are just a few of the different areas that use the services of travel and tourism specialists. A career in tourism focuses on working with people to help them design the perfect trip for their needs. Work in tourism assists clients to choose a destination, purchase tickets and make hotel or car rental reservations.
